Study of Sin

Recently finished my paper on hamartiology (Study of Sin). One of the quotes is used in the paper is following:

“Thou dost not play in convincing me of sin, Satan did not play in tempting me to it, I do not play, when I sink in deep mire, for sin is no game, no toy, no bauble; Let me never forget that the heinousness of sin lies not so much in the nature of the sin committed, as in the greatness of the Person sinned against.” ~ Valley of Vision, p. 143.

Merry Christmas!

A lot of things said about Christmas. How we lost a true reason for the season. How the world does not acknowledge the Christ of Christmas. How “stuff” and consumerism totally absorbed our society and Christians.
I believe it is worthless to try to make our society acknowledge and love the God that they hate in their holidays. We are to strive to find true worshipers of God, who are consumed by His Word and by His will. People who do not know God, can not revere Him. People who are blind toward His death can not realize the significance of His birth.
Let true Christians dive into praise and acknowledgment of God and his blessing of birth without holding back, and let the world look at as and be astounded. Christ is worthy.

“Hallelujah, We’ve been found
A child is born to save us now
Hallelujah light has come
A Savior who will set us free
A Promise for those who believe”
Quote from Light Has Come

Definition of Pride

“Pride is contending for the supremacy with God.” ~ Jerry Bridges.

“The greatest pride is to be conscious of none.”

“Pride may be set down as “the sin” of human nature.” ~ C.H. Spurgeon

“There is nothing progressive about being pig headed and refusing to
admit a mistake.” ~ C.S. Lewis

“Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD:
though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5

How to Measure Sin?

“Let me never forget the the heinousness of sin lies not so much in the nature of the sin committed, as in the greatness of the Person sinned against”

Small Things

Life of a Christian is full of small things that we never notice. Some sins we never know what we have. Blessings we never know that we receive. Conviction we never dare to recognize. Small pleasures we are never grateful for. Feelings we never able to identify. Thoughts we never even captivate. Attitudes we never notice. My mother used to tell me all the time that her big life consists of small things. With my teenage maximalism I denied it with passion. Big and bright things, I argued, were the only things that were important. God demands perfection in all ways at all times in all measure at all strength. Small things are vastly valuable and eternally important.
